Quatro! presents a modern adaptation of the renowned board game Quarto, originally conceived by Swiss mathematician Blaise Müller. Designed for iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad, this puzzle game emphasizes strategic thinking and quick decision-making.

The primary objective is to align four pieces in a row, sharing at least one property in common—a feat known as achieving a Quatro. While this may sound straightforward, players quickly discover that success hinges on timing, keen attention to detail, and effective strategy against their chosen opponent.

Quatro! offers multiple gameplay options: challenge a highly intelligent computer opponent (with adjustable difficulty levels), engage with friends on the same device, or connect with others remotely via Game Center. Players have the opportunity to enhance their skills and strive towards becoming a master of Quatro.

Statistical insights into the game reveal its intricate complexity:

• The breadth of initial choices is notable: during the first move, players can choose from 16 possible pieces. Following this, the placement of a selected piece can occupy one of 16 positions, with an additional selection from 15 remaining pieces. This leads to an astronomical search space estimated at 4.4e26 configurations.
• In classic mode, there are 414,298,141,056 possible winning configurations, whereas in extreme mode (which includes winning combinations in squares), there are approximately 18,596,841,216 distinct winning scenarios.
• If both players adopt optimal strategies, the outcome tends towards a draw; however, achieving such a scenario is theoretically improbable due to the game's mathematical nuances.
